Type: Long-Term Contract Assignment
Duration: 12 Months
Locations: MTA Construction & Development 2 Broadway & Various Field Locations
Pay Rate Range: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour, based on relevant experience.
Project Description:
Under the supervision of a Design Manager, assist with Station's Capital Program Projects (ADA Package 4 or as otherwise assigned by the DM).
Normal Work Week:
Monday through Friday
(Saturday and/or Sunday during General Orders and night shifts as required)
Number of Paid Hours Per Week:
40 hours ( MTA C&D does not pay for lunch hours. )
Hours of Work:
8:00 AM 4:30 PM (includes an hour of unpaid lunch time)
- 50% Technical and 50% Administrative
- 80% Field, 20% Office
- Right-of-Way access is required.
Qualifications Requirements:
A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in engineering, engineering technology, architecture, architectural technology, landscape architecture, business administration, or public administration, and two (2) years of full-time satisfactory experience.
Experience Requirements:
Two to six years' full time satisfactory experience of performing project management work, such as planning, administering, managing, coordinating, or expediting on engineering projects, or supervising a Construction Project with a value of $l million or more. Candidate must have at least one year of supervisory capacity or have served for at least one year as a Project Manager for a large and/or complex Construction Project.

Desired Skills/Re q uirements:
- Bachelor of Engineering or Architecture Degree preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret Contract drawings & specifications.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards preferred.
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word, Access, and Excel. CADD experience is desirable but not required.
- The ability to communicate effectively with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Organize project info rmat ion, prepare reports and presentations, and interact/communicate with contractors and other NYC Transit departments.
- Knowledge and/or experience with capital construction procedures and field operations.
- Knowledge and/or experience with construction scheduling and estimating.
- In depth knowledge and/or experience with N Y C Transit operations and mass-transit facilities preferable.
- The ability to coordinate with a multitude of users such as operations and engineering personnel.
Ensure work complies with contract documents.
- Complete all required paperwork for contract.
- Provide support during the inspection and quality control/quality assurance furnishing and installing of all material and equipment during close-out.
- Assist in the inspection of communications Construction Projects; m onitoring
- Provide project management support service during construction and design.
- Work with Resident Engineer in meeting the project goals and provide support to the PMC/CCM, attending project coordination meetings with stakeholders preparing meeting minutes and following up on action items.
- Monitor safety ensuring all personnel, including NYCT(New York City Transit) personnel, Contractor, and Subcontractors, comply with safety requirements of the contract.
- Prepare regularly and in a timely manner Daily Reports, Quality and Safety
Check Lists and Reports, Field Condition Survey Reports, Field Sketches, scopes of work for change orders, estimates, additional work order packages and any other report as required by the Construction Manager/Resident Engineer.
- Prepare, submit, and coordinate necessary requests for NYCT Services, such as Flagging, Access & Protection, etc.
- Supervise employees and manage project budget, schedules, and construction activities.

- 30-Hour OSHA Certification and 8-hour Lead Awareness Course are required.
