Job Description
The Operations Manager position is in the DFW metro area. The position is available for immediate hire so training can take place. The ideal candidate will have a P.E., CCM or PMP and/or have an operations background working at an AEC firm. Standard 4-year degree in architecture, engineering or construction science. Someone with 10 plus years of experience needed.
1. Self-initiative leadership and management role, not requiring micromanagement.
2. Reviews contracts and sub agreements for Foster CM Group (FCMG) “deal breaker” clauses, relevant scope germane to FCMG’s competent services, and accuracy of fee, verifies insurance compliance, coordinates with FCMG staff and legal for review and comments, etc.
3. Motivates, works with, and gives direction to staff to ensure quality performance and client satisfaction.
4. The ability to understand “the big picture” while tackling the day-to-day operations.
5. Can analyze subjectively, critically think to make good judgments and decisions.
6. The ability to accurately perform tasks independently without review and understand necessary tasks to be accomplished without supervision or direction.
7. Self-starter that can prioritize which tasks should be accomplished sooner than later.
8. Proactive thinker that can avoid/foresee issues.
9. Initiate, prepares and participates in operation meetings.
10. Coordinate with staff to receive project/program updates for monthly reporting.
11. Provides staff scope of services, deliverables, etc. per the contract
12. Ensures: staff is comprehensively satisfying the contract scope of services and submitting accurate timely deliverables.
13. Ensures FCMG Company policy and procedure compliance to achieve adherence.
14. Staff planning, forecasting, budget monitoring, and reporting.
15. Provides guidance, direction, and holds staff accountable for project requirements, performance, and client satisfaction.
16. Provides or assigns additional tasks to staff regarding company needs for efficiency or as directed.
17. Conducts periodic staff and client performance meetings and evaluations.
18. Initiate job postings for positions by providing descriptions, duties, responsibilities, etc. Anticipating potential positions for pursuits is huge plus.
19. Proactively participate in the hiring process including: job description, preliminary phone calls, follow up emails, interviews with the candidate and client, etc.
20. Understand all staff and their capabilities and provide feedback for consideration.
21. Produce contract fee proposals.
22. Possess strong organizational skills and accurately file documents on the server.
23. Assists in business development and bringing new projects in.
24. Assists the Marketing Department with technical writing for proposals, presentations, submittals, etc.
25. Knows and understands Company goals and objectives.
26. Assists with providing equipment and supplies to staff.
27. Provide pre-invoicing meetings prior to the first invoice so invoicing staff fully understands: FCMG role, billable positions, Client, Owner, Project #, billing dates, points of contacts, how to properly invoice and minimize errors and confusion, etc.
28. Quality oversight on DFW area invoices.
29. On a daily basis, complete necessary Client or Owner tasks per their required deadline.
