COMPANY & POSITION SUMMARY
Work under the Supervision of a Construction Manager Trainee to assist in management of new home construction and customer service. This position may will lead to Construction Manager once key core competencies are met including; availability of a community, management of the construction of new homes, ability to manage trade and vendor base, and manage customer service in assigned subdivisions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Schedule new home construction and adjust daily to achieve forecasted delivery date
- Manage sub-contractors and vendors
- Inspect quality of workmanship and correct as needed
- Communicate with Sales Associates and Management stages of construction, buyer walk dates and closing dates
- Read and interpret plans and specifications
- Inspect and count material as delivered
- Maintain a clean and professional job site
- Enforce safety rules and regulations
- Communicate courteously and effectively with customers
- Recruit new labor subcontractors to assist in the construction of homes
- Hold sub-contractors and vendors accountable for meeting deadlines and maintaining Chesmar Homes quality standards
- Must be self-motivated and have a sense of urgency to keep construction on schedule
- Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced production environment
- Ability to work in outdoor elements walking homes at various stages of construction to inspect quality and adjust schedules based on daily production
- Must have automobile to move between job sites throughout subdivision and occasionally multiple subdivisions
- Must have a neat and professional appearance as this job interacts with our customers
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Management experience
- Home building experience preferred
- Customer service skills
- Computer skills: Outlook, Word, Excel
- Mechanical aptitude to understand construction science and systems
