Job Summary
Inspects construction projects to confirm that procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications.
Essential Functions
Ability to work in a field office setting
Walk, stand, crawl, climb and stoop for extended periods of time to inspect work
Position will require work outside of normal work hours to meet project requirements and contractor’s schedule
Possessing an unsuspended and unrestricted driver’s license may be a condition of employment dependent upon work requirements
Other Functions
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Observe work to monitor progress and confirm conformance to plans and specifications, construction and safety standards, verify levels, alignment and elevation of installations
Examine quality of finished installations for conformity to standards
Interprets plans and specifications
Discuss deviations from specified construction procedures and develop recommendations as required to maintain compliance
Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and compile progress reports
Document project progress
Position requires overtime work and work outside of normal work hours as necessary to meet project requirements and contractor’s schedule
Position will periodically require travel between project sites; it is the individual’s responsibility to provide their own transportation for such purposes, requiring an unsuspended and unrestricted driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- ICC certifications desirable
- Must be able to speak fluent English as well as write grammatically correct English
- This position requires a working knowledge of Office 365
- Knowledge of construction processes and the ability to read and interpret plans and specification is required
- Must be able to work both independently with minimal supervision as well as within a team atmosphere and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Resolves issues based on clearly defined scenarios
- Uses feedback to make and adapt decisions
- Inspection experience with mechanical equipment and installation
- Inspection experience with electrical equipment and installation
- Inspection experience with a variety of pipeline installation methods including open trench and a variety of trenchless methods (auger bore, HDD, microtunnel, CIPP, pipe bursting, etc.)
- Inspection experience with concrete installation including rebar and concrete materials
- Inspection experience with site grading, excavation, soil compaction, and compaction of various materials for construction site work and trench backfill for pipelines
Typical Working Conditions
On-site construction trailer or building where exposure to heights, uneven surfaces, confined spaces, heat, cold, dirt, odors, wastewater and chemical exposure and other construction hazards may exist.
Physical Demands
Must be able to traverse all areas of jobsite in all types of weather. This may include: walking, standing, climbing, crawling, reaching, bending and stooping for extended periods, to inspect work in progress and upon completion. Must be able to occasionally lift 45 pounds. Must be able to climb ladders. Must be able to enter confined spaces, with appropriate training.

Pay: $64.00 - $74.00 per hour
