Construction Inspector - Nicet (Suffolk County)

Gannett Fleming is seeking a Senior Inspector to work on a storm drainage improvement project in Region 10 by improving existing drainage systems by cleaning, repairing, replacing and adding of drainage structures and pipes to maintain their reliability and integrity. This is an opportunity to improve weakened drainage systems and alleviate spot flooding conditions by repairing drainage systems or individual basins.
Responsibilities:

• Keep accurate and detailed records of the contractor's performance and progress including delivery of materials.
• Maintain a daily log of construction and inspection activities and tracking this against progress reports.
• Responsible for monitoring the progress and quality of all aspects of construction.
• Coordinate with the necessary entities to make sure environmental standards are met.
• Compute monthly estimates of work completed and reviews payment for contractors.
• Examine workmanship of completed construction for conformity to project specifications and applicable construction codes.
• Other duties may be assigned based on task assignment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Qualifications:
• NICET III, or Professional Engineer with 10- 15 years' of relevant experience
• Experience on NYSDOT infrastructure projects is a plus
• Training in Work Zone Traffic Control
• Basic computer skills required.
• ACI Field Testing Certification.

Salary Range: $48.00 - $75.00 per hour; Salary dependent upon experience and geographic location.
