Form of workCONSOR Engineers is currently seeking a Construction Inspector to work out of our Tampa, FL office. This is an opportunity to be a part of an established team within a growing organization that strives to produce the best possible product for our clients.
As a Construction inspector you will work with Senior inspectors to monitor, inspect, and document all on-site construction activities on government funded Road and bridge construction projects. This includes but is not limited to materials sampling and testing, and inspection of Earthworks, Concrete, and asphalt to ensure quality control and contractor compliance with FDOT and/or Municipality specifications.
- Ensure contractors adhere to client plans and specifications.
- Monitoring and documentation of on-site construction activities
- Inspection of construction materials in accordance with the clients specifications.
- Inspection of materials includes but is not limited to sampling and testing of earthworks, concrete, and asphalt.
- Transporting samples to be tested to appropriate testing facilities.
- Maintaining detailed, accurate records of daily operations and significant events
- Preparing daily inspection reports (Daily Work Reports or DWRs).
- Monitoring and inspecting work zone traffic control in accordance with the client’s requirements (MOT monitoring).
- Communicate effectively with contractor personnel (Must be able to speak English effectively)
- Responsible for assisting Senior inspectors in the performance of their duties.
- Fulfilling other job duties as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of relevant construction inspection experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to CONSOR’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Pass pre-employment substance abuse screening and background screening.
- Must successfully complete and pass CONSOR’s Motor Vehicle record screening.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs. on a daily basis.
- Able to work outdoors.
- Able to work the occasional night shift.
