We are looking for a Construction Equipment Dispatcher to join our talented and award winning team in Yucaipa, CA
Classification: Exempt (Salary)
General Summary of Position: As dispatcher, you'll primarily be responsible in helping to facilitate the dispatching of manpower and equipment to various job sites throughout California. This position will involve working in support of the Operations Manager & Equipment Yard Manager to manage the fleet of equipment & personnel to various job sites according to project schedule/needs. Need to be familiar with general construction, have some knowledge of specific equipment, have purchasing skill and great organizational skills, and must be proficient with using Word, Excel, and Adobe.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
· Manage the dispatching of equipment from corporate yard to various job sites throughout California.
· Schedule and dispatch work crews to various construction project sites.
· Communicate work orders to and from work crews.
· Meet with managers to discuss work projects.
· Field daily phone calls from job site superintendents to support needs with materials such as traffic control, etc.
· Prepare daily work and run schedules for workers.
· Purchase and/or coordinate purchasing needs with General Superintendent.
· Negotiate, order, and track equipment rentals.
· Track ongoing field projects - starting and ending dates.
· Work with managers to select, schedule and dispatch workers.
· Coordinate with yard personnel for equipment use.
Qualifications:
· 2-5 years of relevant experience.
· General Construction knowledge.
· Knowledge of specific equipment utilized.
· Familiar with geography of California.
· Familiar with California Labor laws.
· Familiar with Air Emissions Requirements.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Excellent communication skills (written & oral) and can effectively communicate with all levels of the company.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe, Outlook, Internet, Dropbox or other file transfer websites (FTP).
· Responds promptly to project needs; responds to requests for service and assistance; meets commitments.
· Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
· Required to have a Valid Drive License and clean driving record.
· Must pass pre-employment drug test/physical/background check.
