Must be able to resolve discrepancies that may arise between Engineers and CM regarding methods of implementing changes. Also needs to determine when engineering changes should be implemented and documented. This individual must be able to facilitate cross-function team discussions where action items will be assigned and followed up. From time to time, the incumbent may have to deal with confusion on the shop floor about the disposition of parts. Chances of parts going to the wrong station or receiving double parts may be caused due to system coding difficulties. The Configuration Management Engineer must be able to identify the problem and make corrections as required alongside the MEs. The Configuration Management Engineer will be responsible for making the Production Manufacturing Engineers aware of any type of process deviation required that is being initiated by a Change Notice coming out of Product Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- To be the recipient of construction messages ECN from R&D from the PC
- To create, update, and maintain the production structure in the ERP system based on ECN
- Based on ECN, create new or add old purchase items to the ERP system
- To compile drawings, 3D files, and documentation for changes to existing purchase items and send them to existing supplier
- To distribute a mailing to notify production purchases of the new items and the replacement of existing items when new items are added. In case of changes in progress, production should close consultation take place
- To document which measures the KM has processed according to the KIIP process (controlled phase in and information to correct stakeholders including a Test assembly ) in a common ECN log
- To monitor when sending new documents to suppliers, that receipts are received within seven days
- That, where required by the change class in the ECN, immediately ensures that deviant articles are stopped in manufacturing, purchase, selection, and deliveries. After investigation is initiated reworks or cessation
- In case of phasing out, together with the buyer concerned, determine the phasing out time concerning stock, outstanding orders, and production orders, if necessary. materials from suppliers and own stock of substances, as well as delivery times for new articles
- When the phasing out takes place, implement or date-control an updated structural audit
- Identify purchase levels, which means deciding whether parts should be purchased complete or assembled internally
- To inform Manufacturing Engineers about any change to an existing article or layout of a new one so that the production/change of instructions for assembly, tools, and fixtures is initiated
- To where appropriate, compile and carry out scrapping if the material cannot be used
- Is available as cross-functional support in case of questions from e.g. assemblers, production technology, planning, purchasing, and R&D
- Evaluate all Change Notifications coming out of Production Engineering
- Facilitate work tasks and be the liaison for the data entry into the ERP system
- Identify and assign tasks for other departments in relation to the disposition codes
- Notify all affected personnel of the correct disposition for all engineering changes
- Follow-up on potential OSMI material
- Answer questions regarding pending/past changes/systems/coding as needed
- Any other assignments that are given to them by their supervisor
