POSITION SUMMARY
This is not your typical Product Management position. Barton Malow is seeking a team member who can work as part of a small team to develop a completely new way to approach the development of buildings. The team will look at all aspects of the process including identification of locations, project development, design, construction, cost analysis, schedule, procurement, and market strategy. Our ideal candidate is organized and execution-oriented, but also creative and wants to challenge everything about how our industry works. Barton Malow is looking for candidates who have deep experience somewhere in AEC with 10+ years of experience.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development of configurable building product(s) to maximize project certainty and minimize the traditional project friction while delivering a customer experience that is simpler, faster, and more certain than traditional design and delivery. Critical product management responsibilities will include the following:
- Clearly define and prioritize work to be done and document so that it can easily be referenced by all product stakeholders.
- Identify partners and vendors who can source unitized building systems and components, as well as a reliable supply chain network.
- Schedule and lead regular check-in meetings to ensure alignment, roadblocks are cleared, and clarity of work scope expectations with a constant focus on completion date.
- Develop a product schedule with a completion date and clear milestones for completion. Manage the schedule closely and work with the team to course correct as necessary.
- Coordinate all work between consultants and internal team members including App Dev, subject matter experts (SMEs), etc.
- Develop innovative, integrated, and practical product roadmaps and design logic strategies that align with business-oriented goals.
- Explore opportunities for prefabrication and modular design integration as part of forward-thinking design and construction practices.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- An undergraduate or graduate degree in Architecture or Engineering is preferred.
- 10+ years’ experience in AEC or manufacturing.
- Ability to participate in weekly in-person meetings in Southfield, MI preferred.
- Ability to travel up to once per month.
