Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Information Technology, the C&IS Support Specialist supports the campus computing operations. Working as part of a team, the incumbent will support the user's software needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Unbox, configure, set up, and diagnose the performance of workstations and iOS devices
- Perform basic software and hardware troubleshooting diagnostics
- Load application software on single-user operating systems
- Troubleshoot and respond to user questions
- Track and update open calls using the department work order system
- Serve as a resource for Level I technicians

- Environment: Work is performed mostly in an indoor/office environment where the noise level is quiet.
- Physical: This position is active and primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to regularly walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl or climb, stand or sit for periods; may occasionally lift office products, supplies, and computer machinery 50 lbs.; sufficient manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate office machinery, specifically a computer and keyboard, and use of small hand tools for repairs or installation, repetitive hand motions.
- Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction to be able to see close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Auditory: Must be able to express or exchange ideas using the spoken word. Must be able to talk and hear by telephone and in person.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience providing PC hardware and software support services for hardware and software in use on campus
- Knowledge of a variety of operating systems (MS Windows, MacOS, iOS, Linux) Certificate, degree or equivalent experience
