Overview:
We are seeking a self-motivated and team-oriented professional to join our Waunakee office as a Compliance Specialist! This position will be responsible for assisting in monitoring the effectiveness of the compliance program by performing various tasks to ensure the bank maintains a high level of compliance by staying current on regulatory issues and by in-forming staff of regulatory changes. This role will also assist the SVP Compliance and outside consultants and regulators to facilitate reviews and examinations.
Responsibilities:
Monitor Bank’s Compliance Procedures
- Assist in monitoring the bank’s compliance-related procedures on an ongoing basis to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Work with the Compliance Committee to implement policies and procedures relative to regulatory changes
- Review and update compliance related policies on an annual basis
- Maintain a list of new products and changes to products & services
Perform Compliance Reviews
- Perform department monitoring reviews to assure departments remain compliant
- Ensure that actual practices follow the established policy and procedures
- Ensure consumer laws and regulations are being followed
- Present monitoring review findings to SVP Compliance
- Analyze and report on key risk indicators used to monitor Fair Lending performance
Compliance Training
- Assist in the development of compliance training programs for associates
- Assist with the administration of compliance training for all new hires and existing employee
- Monitor the BAI compliance training class attendance
- Provide SAFE Act training
Manage Internal and External Audit/Exams
- Assist with internal compliance audits and examinations
- Receive and provide requested documents timely to auditors and examiners
- Track all outstanding findings from compliance audits and examinations
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar designation and/or two-four years equivalent work experience in a similar position required
- Previous experience in banking or financial institution setting and/or compliance required
- Well-developed verbal/written communication skills and interpersonal skills to be able to interact and communicate with diverse groups of customers, employees, examiners, etc.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills with the proven ability to exercise independent judgment in decision making
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point with the ability and willingness to learn new programs and software
- Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills and the ability to work efficiently and accurately
- Self-starter that can manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work in a fast-paced/deadline driven environment
- Willing team player with the ability to put forth the extra effort necessary to make the office a successful operation including the willingness to put in extra time when needed and/or to attend required & recommended outside educational programs, seminars, etc.
- Ability to maintain confidential customer information.
This position is a full time position with hours of 8am – 5pm Monday-Friday with the flexibility.
