The Compliance Analyst II is responsible for operational support duties of the Compliance Department. The incumbent will assist the Governance Risk and Compliance Officer, as well as the Chief Compliance Officer, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, Fair Lending Officer, Fair and Responsible Banking Officer, Bank Secrecy Act Officer, Privacy Officer, or as directed. This position assists in originating, implementing, and maintaining the Bank's Compliance Management System (CMS) to ensure conformity and adherence with all applicable state and federal laws, rules, and regulations.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides oversight on all WSFS Bank customer complaints by completing a 2-tier review and approval process within the complaints tracking system. This includes developing and maintaining a strong working relationship with the Customer Experience team and other internal partners.
  • Reviews and approves WSFS Bank formal written responses to complaints submitted to the CFPB, OCC, BBB, etc.
  • Perform secondary review of all customer complaints that have been aligned to specific regulations and provide reporting on a quarterly basis to management.
  • Assists with the reporting and escalation of outstanding issues that are maintained in Issues Management including issues identified through regulatory examinations, internal audits, compliance monitoring and testing, compliance risk assessments, violations identified through customer complaints as well as self-identified violations.
  • Assists with the initial assessment and distribution of regulatory notifications and impact assessments to the impacted lines of business of all proposed/final regulatory changes and other bank violations.
  • Responsible for evaluating completed Impact Assessments relating to regulatory notifications and determining if acceptable to close and, if not, communicating back to the Line of Business the rejection reason.
  • Provides support to all areas of the department as directed or where service or assistance is needed.
  • Assist with routine testing of upgrades or enhancements to the SAI360 Software System when needed.
  • Participates in Financial Industry Groups, as needed, to keep abreast of updates and/or hot topics of regulatory concerns within the industry.
  • Completes annual training assigned, that would be applicable to the role, and participate in any other training opportunities, as assigned, that may arise for opportunity to gain experience and grow.
  • Maintains a proficient knowledge of all applicable banking laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Provides clerical assistance in training Associates on the Bank's compliance policies and procedures.
  • Performs a variety of routine daily tasks; reviews reports, prepares correspondence; and participates in special department projects.
  • Assures compliance with all Bank policies, procedures and processes, and all applicable state and federal banking laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Provides support to various business lines in the form of providing regulatory guidance when requested.
  • Participates in various project teams as the compliance liaison.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
  • A bachelor's degree or one year of relevant work-related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Work related experience should consist of an in-depth background in financial institution operations, security, compliance, or legal areas involving banking laws, rules, and regulations, investigations, or fraud prevention.
  • Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school, or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry, or regulatory or law enforcement agency. Professional accreditation such as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP) is a plus.
  • Must have excellent listening ability and presentation skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Financial Institution compliance regulations.
  • Must have basic knowledge of Bank administration, lending and operations products and services; related state and federal laws and regulations, and other Bank operational policies and procedures.
  • Must have effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence, and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and Associates.
  • Must have good organizational and time management skills
