Location: Hybrid/Flexible schedule, based in Rosemont, IL.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain accurate job descriptions in collaboration with internal HR teams and managers.
- Evaluate job positions in consultation with HR and business leaders, considering factors such as responsibilities, qualifications, and market demands to establish fair and competitive compensation levels.
- Analyze and address pay equity issues, providing recommendations for resolution.
- Conduct job evaluations for salaried positions using Mercer's International Position Evaluation (IPE) system.
- Formalize and document annual pay and incentive plan reviews.
- Lead or participate in special compensation projects.
- Assist in documenting Compensation policies and practices.
- Conduct in-depth salary benchmarking using reputable data sources to ensure competitive pay scales aligned with industry standards.
- Prepare company data for salary surveys to support ongoing improvement of compensation programs.
- Stay informed about federal, state, and local compensation laws to ensure company compliance.
- Review jobs for FLSA testing and compliance initiatives.
- Prepare and present summary reports of job and compensation analyses.
- Develop compensation training materials and programs to educate HR leaders, managers, and employees about company pay philosophy and programs.
- Less than 5% travel required.
- Additional duties and projects as assigned.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Compensation Analyst.
- Demonstrated experience in advanced analytical and presentation skills for compensation-related projects.
- Functional knowledge of compensation methodologies and pay structures.
- Strong aptitude in data analysis and research methods.
- Solid understanding of HR systems, job codes, and salary structures.
- Ability to analyze, influence, and interpret policies, practices, and procedures.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential employee information.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and HRIS systems.
- Prior experience with SAP SuccessFactors, UKG, and Mercer WIN systems a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.
- Solid understanding of compensation principles, including short-term incentive, salary structures, and job grading.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or CCP certification preferred.
