BASE SALARY: $95,106.00 – $100,936.00 (11 MONTHS)

The District
The Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District, whose enrollment is approximately 16,000, serves a diverse student population. We believe that all children can learn. General Description
Under the direction of the designated administrator, the Community Schools Specialist is responsible for implementing, coordinating, and monitoring school-site programs that aim to close the achievement gap. In partnership with the site administrator, the Community Schools Specialist will ensure the programs selected fulfill one or more of the following pillars: Integrated Student Supports; Family and Community Engagement; Collaborative Leadership and Practices for Educators and Administrators and; Extended Learning Time and Opportunities. The focus of the selected programs includes but is not limited to college and career exploration, academic support, support services and parent support.
Requirements
MINIMUM:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Registered with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) issued by the State of California.
EXPERIENCE:
- Two years of experience with spearheading efforts in implementing services for children and families in a diverse urban education or social service setting.
