About the Job
The Community Outreach Coordinator (Client Recruiter) has the primary responsibility of connecting, educating and enrolling clients in the Mental Health services provided by Project IMPACT. The Community Outreach Coordinator will act as a community liaison and network within the local community to find potential clients.
Specific Job Duties:
- Establish and maintain connection with local community through site visits to community centers such as schools, churches, recreation centers and other local organizations.
- Establish and maintain connection with agencies such as the local probation department and the Department of Mental Health Client Care Program.
- Maintain knowledge of eligibility requirements, services, and appropriate referral channels.
- Answer questions, provide information and explain eligibility requirements to potential clients, community members and the general public; assist potential clients in resolving eligibility issues as needed.
- Assist clients in completion of forms and reports as needed.
- Maintain documentation of connections and referrals.
- Participate in staff meetings.
- Comply with productivity standards of Project Impact while maintaining an appropriate caseload.
- Maintain and complete timely case notes and other records; prepare periodic reports as required.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary to fulfill agency and/or program requirements.
Job Requirements
- Bachelors’s degree in social work, psychology or related social science field.
- Previous experience in mental health or a social service agency setting desirable.
- Experience with the Department of Mental Health.
- Must be able to provide and maintain personal vehicle insurance coverage according to Project Impact standards due to travel duties while providing client services, etc.
- Ability to interact and communicate both verbally and in writing with seriously emotionally disturbed adolescents, parents, foster parents, care takers, schools, other staff, physicians, county agencies, other health care providers and the public.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and follow-through to completion of job assignments.
- Ability to perform clear, concise, and timely documentation and correspondence.
