POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Community Health Director and consistent with the mission and policies of the YMCA of Western North Carolina, the Community Health Manager will coordinate and implement all Healthy Opportunities Pilot food domain operations and outreach efforts, ensuring compliance with pilot standards. This position supports quality improvement practices, assists in routine administrative functions and provides direct service. This position is contingent upon continued grant support.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Models inclusive management behaviors and embraces all dimensions of diversity by building strong teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to advancing our mission
- Responsible for hiring, coaching and mentoring all direct reports, including volunteers and interns and ensuring alignment with the organization's personnel policy and HR practices within their scope of responsibility through quarterly check-ins and annual reviews with service line/department team
- Works to ensure service line/department is actively working towards association-level objectives by assessing progress towards identified goals/key performance indicators.
- Manages Healthy Opportunities Pilot program operations including safe food handling practices, inventory, procurement, and data tracking
- Oversees and manages relationships with Healthy Opportunities Pilot care managers, referrals, and representatives from Impact Health Network
- Manages the implementation and outcomes of educational programs, grants, and participation in Health Opportunities Pilot Program
- Adheres to all compliance requirements of the Healthy Opportunities Pilot program including staying up to date on required trainings, meetings, reports, and records
- Manages and implements nutrition education materials and events related to Healthy Opportunities Pilot
- Develops, manages, and expands community relationships to maximize collaborative efforts and access to resources resulting in grant support, donors, sponsors, and program growth
- Develops and implements communication channels with YMCA staff, volunteers, donors and community stakeholders, to educate on the work of the Nutrition Department
- Regular direct service work including packing and delivering food boxes
- Supports Nutrition Operations Manager and YMCA Mobile Market program as needed by helping with food management, sorting, delivery and nutrition education content
- Support Community Health Director with budget creation and management for HOP
- Additional tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2 years professional experience in program leadership, food management, product innovation, and fiscal management
- Meet strength and lifting requirements regularly lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software
- Requires strong organizational skills, prioritization of workloads in order to meet deadlines, as well as detail-orientation and conscientiousness
- Must have excellent interpersonal, public relations, and communications skills
- Must be willing to drive a box truck and completion of YMCA of Western North Carolina Driver Training upon hire is required
- Must have a clean driving record and a reliable vehicle
NICE TO HAVE

- Bilingual in English and Spanish
STATISTICAL DATA
The scope of responsibilities includes supervision of 1 direct report, 10 or more volunteers, and a caseload of 100 or more families receiving services.
