Community Engagement Coordinator - with the New York Council of Nonprofits, Inc. (NYCON)

Job Summary:
The Community Engagement Coordinator is an hourly, full-time position responsible for supporting the daily program operations of BoardStrong and providing customer relationship management (CRM)/membership support to the membership department of NYCON. The position reports to the Director of BoardStrong and VP of Marketing & Communications at NYCON. Candidates who are self-motivated, flexible and excited by working on a variety of projects are preferred.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintain the BoardStrong matching platform (www.boardstrong.force.com), which connects nonprofit boards seeking board members and interested board candidates. Work includes providing support to nonprofits and candidates enrolling in the platform (such as resetting passwords, answering questions), and working with consultants as required to ensure the system is operating smoothly. Responsibilities also include creating customized dashboards and landing pages for the platform in Salesforce and WordPress.
- Maintain applicable www.boardstrong.org pages.
- Help with BoardStrong virtual event management, including using Constant Contact and Zoom to market and host the events, and post video recordings afterward, including editing short video clips appropriate for social media.
- Lead BoardStrong’s social media efforts, including determining strategy and maintaining LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube accounts.
- Support BoardStrong’s Regional Advisory Councils, board and committees by writing meeting minutes and coordinating meeting notices.
- Use SurveyMonkey to create surveys and compile data.
- Maintain the Salesforce database as it pertains to Membership and BoardStrong users; run reports and manage dashboards.
- Use Zoom and Salesforce to assist Membership staff with nonprofit organization inquiries, virtual events and more.
- Help maintain Membership data through projects involving Salesforce and Excel.
- Provide other event planning support for Membership.

Job Type: hourly, full-time (35 hours per week), non-exempt
Education: high school diploma; some college preferred
Qualifications: Commitment to NYCON and BoardStrong’s missions of advancing nonprofit organizations. Self-motivated, detail oriented and familiar and confident with a variety of technology platforms (including comfortable with learning new technology as required). Salesforce and/or WordPress experience a plus.
Salary: $24.73 per hour, 35 hours per week
Location: Based at NYCON offices in Menands with telework options (up to 4 days per week after initial orientation) and flexible schedule are available.
