The role you’ll contribute:

As a member of the community team, the Community Engagement Coordinator, working with the Senior Manager, assumes responsibility for assisting in the development and operations of meaningful Community Engagement initiatives to elevate AdventHealth’s commitment to improve community health, prosperity and well-being. This role will support and coordinate the employee giving campaigns, board placement strategy, volunteer initiatives and special events for corporate services teams, and cultivate strategic internal and external partnerships that advance community goals. Collaboration and close coordination with the Community Engagement team, and regional Volunteer management teams is required.

Board Engagement

• Manage corporate board placements - including but not limited to advising and identifying both national and local opportunities for corporate leadership.

• Ensure board service hours are accurately tracked and maintain inventories of current board placements and open board opportunities.

• Maintain up-to-date records of nonprofit organizations in need of board members, and the type of representation they are seeking.

• Serve as a liaison between potential board members and nonprofit organizations and checking in with board members to ensure they have the resources they need.

• Collaborate with Central Florida Division team members in generating strategic board placements.

• Assist in developing and implementing an orientation course for corporate team members recently placed on community boards.

• Working with Corporate Communication and Creative Services to generate greater awareness of board service opportunities and other ongoing community initiatives.

• Accurately track qualifying Community Engagement activities to community benefit.

Employee Giving Initiatives

• Coordinate annual employee giving initiatives at Corporate Services.

• Assist Senior Manager and Senior Coordinator with community partnership logistics, which include conducting partnership assessments, creating partnership proposals, volunteer event activations and scheduling annual check-ins with partners.

Team Management and Activities

• Research best practices, strategize new internal promotional approaches and oversee the production and dissemination of marketing materials tied to promoting the community involvement program.

• Assist Senior Manager with Community Engagement efforts tied to AdventHealth’s social needs referral platform, including training internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaborate with Central Florida Division to ensure Corporate Services leadership is represented at community events, when appropriate.

• Implement strong written communication skills to review and edit outgoing partnership documents and department-specific promotional materials.

• Work proactively and independently, showing initiative and problem-solving skills and seeking advice when appropriate.

• Prepare reports, presentations, and PowerPoints for various audiences.

• Assist in special projects, as needed.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field to Community Engagement, e.g. Public Affairs, Corporate Citizenship, Public Relations, Marketing, OR

• Equivalent documented professional experience in community-focused work environment

Preferred qualifications:

• Project Management certification

• 2-years’ experience in community partnerships, philanthropy, volunteer programs, program coordination, event planning or corporate citizenship.
