We are seeking a Recovery Educator - Behavioral Health Specialist for our psychiatric rehabilitation program. This program helps our participants achieve independence in living, learning, working, and socializing.

As the Behavioral Health Specialist you will be responsible for sharing the underlying concepts necessary to recovery: hope, personal responsibility, education, self-advocacy, and support. This role is a community-based support role. In this role, you will be working within the Philadelphia community.

Day to Day:

• 
  Work with people who have experienced psychiatric symptoms to assist them discover the strengths they have and can use to enhance their recovery


• 
  Empower and motivate people to feel the way they want to feel, help make their lives the way they want them to be, and develop, keep and achieve life goals


• 
  Provide individual and group activities, education, skill teaching and opportunities on site and in the community


• 
  Provide linkage to resources in the community to assist individuals


• 
  Provide telephone and face-to-face outreach to individuals in crisis or in need of additional support, as assigned, during hours when individuals are not attending the program.

Skills & Requirements

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required ,Associate's degree preferred


• 1+ years' experience in mental health direct service

The base pay for this position ranges from $20.88 to $21.98 and will vary based on factors such as skills and experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Compensation that JEVS Human Services provides to recognize employees for their work.
