Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Specialist will be responsible for a variety of both internal and external communications efforts across media, with the overarching goal of providing timely and consistent messaging across constituents. Candidates for this position should have exceptionally strong writing and project management skills and demonstrate a willingness to be collaborative across a number of departments/functional areas of the college. Some weekend and evening work is required.

Essential responsibilities will include:
- Serve as the main news reporter for the College, covering major announcements, events, student and faculty achievements
- Manage news- and event-related photography
- Post news and events related content on social media platforms
- Draft press releases, particularly on student and faculty accomplishments
- Contribute news content to Emmanuel Magazine
- Collaborate with Marketing team on a shared editorial calendar
- Assist with community relations efforts, event planning and promotion, crisis communications and campus/emergency preparedness efforts
- Contribute content to the College's website
- Draft and/or edit a variety of internal announcements
- Create and maintain campus-wide newsletters for faculty/staff, students and parents
- In conjunction with Marketing team, assess technologies and platforms for more effective and efficient communications
