What the team does:
The Corporate Communications Team works daily to fuel and demonstrate a new culture with great communications through storytelling and online interaction in a remote-first work environment. They work closely with leaders and business units to aid in effective communications both internally and Externally. With a team motto of “make the company feel smaller by making the people bigger”, they focus on bringing people, projects, and the enterprise goals to life through communications.
What you will do:
- Act as a brand journalist, driving a newsroom-like intranet with daily stories that create eager readers and improve awareness of key initiatives, people, and company news
- Highlight people and partnerships through storytelling both internally and Externally to drive culture, inclusivity, and improve scores to support enterprise goals
- Build opportunities for employee interaction online and at in-person/online events, gatherings to support WPS workplace
- Assist team in planning, organizing, executing, and reporting on the WPS Charitable Foundation Scholarship program (if not an active or potential recipient)
- Help activate corporate sponsorship opportunities/events
- Support social media functions with WPS events and community relations
- Participate in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization
- Attend staff meetings online and on site; serve on project teams as needed
- Maintain knowledge and ensure the protection of hardware/software system security policies, including compliance of company policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
- Be currently pursuing an undergraduate degree or recent graduate
- Have experience with Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Actively involved in a professional development club or association such as PRSSA
- Currently pursuing a degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, English
- Strong creative and/or business writing skills
- Social media knowledge
- Ability to navigate and learn computer communication platforms and systems
- Effective communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm for people and storytelling
- Brainstorming and workshopping abilities
Hourly Rate of Pay
- The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The starting hourly range for this position is $17-$20

This role is open to 100% remote work for this opportunity in the following approved states:
Wisconsin
To help strengthen communication, provide a sense of community, and improve the overall remote work experience, the assigned office community based on the position’s division is Shared Services: West Frankfort, Illinois
