Communications Intern
Mahwah, NJ
What we are looking for:
The Volvo Car USA Communications team is in search of an intern to provide hands-on support to help us promote the company’s business, values, products, and technologies with the media, consumers, business partners, employees, and other stakeholders, while monitoring for negative media coverage and other business threats. In addition, this team member will also help support VCUSA events internally and externally as well as our press fleet.
A day in the life:
- Monitor media coverage
- Manage and compile media lists
- Create external press materials such as press releases and creative pitches
- Draft internal communications materials
- Assist with event planning for internal and external events
- Support content creation for LinkedIn and internal Instagram
What you will bring to Volvo:
- Pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or other related fields
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and PR tools (i.e., Cision)
- Excellent communication, writing, presentation, and organizational skills
- Outgoing personality with a positive thinking attitude
- Licensed US driver with a clean driving record
- Able to commute to the Mahwah HQ (~4 days/week)
You might also have:
- 1 year of work experience in a related field is a plus
- Interest in cars and the automotive industry is a plus
In order to be considered for this program, you need to be currently enrolled in a related Undergraduate degree program as a rising, Junior, Senior or anticipate graduating within the calendar year. Program is set to begin early June 2024.
