The opportunity

This hands-on Communications Leader is experienced in all facets of Corporate Communications including internal and external channels as well as change management. In support of the company’s Pivot to Growth strategy and the Global R&D transformation, he/she will serve as a Corporate Affairs business partner to teams within Teva Global R&D and Business Development (BD) with responsibility to bring to the forefront success stories about the people, science, business deals and drug development that are driving strategy forward. At the same time, he/she will design the units’ overall content strategy for internal and external owned communication channels, including editorial planning and calendar management, multimedia content development, and analytics. He/she will also contribute to business units and company-wide global events, campaigns and programs, while devising and implementing process improvements and supporting reputational projects as needed. The successful candidate will be expected to influence across a highly matrixed global organization, working closely with R&D, Business Development, Human Resources and Corporate Affairs leaders.

 

This is an opportunity to work in a leading global pharma company and a professional communications team responsible for communication to around 40,000 employees worldwide. The role is part of Teva’s Corporate Affairs team, reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs for Global R&D and Business Development.  

How you’ll spend your day

This person will take ownership of Internal Communication and external owned channels and devise the appropriate individual and overarching content and channel strategy, and measure impact. They will manage the planning and content development of editorial for communication channels and ensure the quality of the content and its effectiveness advancing business communication objectives.

 

The key elements of the position are:

  • Lead the internal and external owned channels strategy, manage the content development and be responsible for planning and managing a master editorial calendar  
  • Manage production of business unit Internal Communications related to executive communications, quarterly business updates, and special initiatives, events, and campaigns
  • Engage with teams in the business units to provide counsel on communication strategy and execution, providing direct support or redirecting to self-serve solutions
  • Work closely with Corporate Affairs and Global R&D and BD teams to increase engagement with communication channels and content
  • Responsible for editorial planning for both the business unit and business unit-contributed content for the global sections of myteva, and work closely with the Digital team as well as markets' communicators to ensure content reaches target audiences and the platform is optimized
  • Review alternative internal/external channels not yet used or not fully utilized in Teva, and if relevant, be responsible for implementation of the strategy/content for that channel (working with the Digital team on the technical implementation)
  • Plan and analyze analytics per channel/communication campaign across channels, and present with learnings and proposed changes to increase effectiveness of reach (working with the Digital team to provide the data)
  • Responsible for the strategy and governance for internal newsletters and mass emails
  • Act as “air traffic control” for internal, tevapharm and social content – where to post and when 
  • Responsible for producing and editing the global intranet and newsletter content, and planning the strategy for the future of this platform both as part of the Global Internal Communications team and for the R&D and BD business unit
  • Research new trends in the industry, internal best practice and benchmark, leverage them and share with the team as part of L&D
  • Work with external vendors on communication projects as needed, including freelance writers, graphic designers and digital platform designers 

Your experience and qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Communication or a related discipline
  • Minimum of ten years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in pharmaceutical industry
  • Able to see the “big picture” and understand the needs of the various departments who need to use the internal channels to communicate
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a focused and accountable way under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • High levels of attention to detail and quality
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to influence others 
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in working across multimedia platforms, written word, video, digital platforms, including social media
