Communications Intern

Alley Cat Rescue (ACR) is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization leading the way in promoting humane, nonlethal and compassionate care for all cats: domestic, stray, feral, and wild. ACR’s programs provide resources to assist individuals who help outdoor cats nation-wide by, among other things, trapping, sterilizing and returning them to their original location.

ACR is looking for a student intern to provide administrative, research, and communications support to our team. Duties will include:

• Research on issues affecting cat welfare (health, legal ordinances, current events)
• Help writing adoption bios for cats available for adoption
• Take photos and videos of cats for adoption profiles and social media
• Weekly updates of cats status for the program
• Creation of short blog posts, articles, and press releases
• General office work (filing, sorting mail, photocopying, scanning, etc.)
• Other tasks as needed

Required skills and experience:

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent writing skills
• Familiarity with Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

Pay: $18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 15 per week
