The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, (MAPMG) is one of the nation's premier multispecialty medical groups and is the largest integrated medical group in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Founded in 1980, the medical group has more than 1,700 Permanente physicians spanning more than 50 subspecialties. Together, we serve approximately 800,000 Kaiser Permanente members in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia at 34 area medical centers, plus several community hospitals and skilled nursing facilities.
Overview:
MAPMG is seeking to hire a Strategy and Communications Intern an interest in health care systems, consulting, project management, and strategic planning the opportunity to spend their summer working on challenging projects in a professional environment.
Responsibilities:
This intern will support the Director of Regional Surgical Services Strategy and engage directly with the physician executives they support. In the past, interns have worked on a variety of high-profile projects including redesigning clinical care pathways, adjusting medical group policies to adapt to changing legislation, spearheading physician engagement programs, and managing large-scale community engagement initiatives.
The program is designed to provide a wide array of experiences that traverse the areas of consulting, analytics, project management, strategy, communications, and executive leadership. Ideal interns are self-starters, energized by a fast-paced work environment, exercise exceptional judgment, enjoy working on teams, have excellent attention to detail and are interested in improving health care delivery. Current graduate level students in MBA, MHA, MPH, or similar programs are encouraged to apply.
This is a paid internship program through the Spring and the Summer semester. This position will be based in Rockville, Maryland. Candidates must be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C., Maryland, or Virginia area.
