Communications Coordinator (University It)

Description
Coordinates communications activities in support of a university program, including, but not limited to, publications, newsletters, annual reports, web site, and informational and solicitation materials.

1. Coordinates various communications projects, to include compiling, editing, and layout of materials.
2. Works with other departments to research, obtain material and organize the content of written communications.
3. Provides content for regular updates of the program web site.
4. May be responsible for producing regularly recurring communications such as annual reports, monthly publications or newsletters.
5. Provides writing and editing services for other communication projects as assigned.
6. Represents the program at conferences and community events.
7. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications
Bachelors and 3 years experience
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.

• Oversee and update content on University Information Technology website - uh.edu/infotech.
• Assists Web Technology Manager: EComm with creating, coordinating, and distributing mass email communications for customers and UH Marketing department.
• Capture departmental metrics and perform data entry for weekly and monthly reporting needs.
• Assists Web Technology Manager: EComm with monitoring departmental social media accounts and responding to customer inquiries.
• Assists Web Technology Manager: EComm with developing social media campaigns to promote departmental initiatives and services. This may include writing content and creating graphics and videos for the campaigns.

Desired Skillsets:

• Photo editing and/or web design experience a plus (media, design, Photoshop, photo editing, web design)
• Experience with social media management platforms a plus (Sprout Social, Hootsuite, eClincher, etc)
• Strong writing and communication skills
