Future Coalition is an intergenerational organization committed to resourcing movement-building solutions led by and for young people addressing the needs of their communities. Born out of March On, Future Coalition aims to accelerate the impact of young people who lead social justice work by funding, incubating, connecting, knowledge-sharing, and amplifying their work.

Job Summary:
The Communications Coordinator of Future Coalition (FC) executes the digital content vision of the organization. This person is primarily responsible for ensuring the FC mission and vision are effectively communicated through digital media channels including the FC website and social media platforms.
The Communicators Coordinator leads the development of content creation working with internal staff, contractors, and media partners to develop content that is meaningful to driving FC’s mission, vision, and programming forward. This person works closely with Program Managers to determine strategies and methods for amplifying grassroots work from the FC network of organizations supported by our programs.
Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Communications Coordinator plays an instrumental role in creatively amplifying the work of Future Coalition and our community.
This is a part-time position at 15 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Execute the social media strategy with a focus on leading the day-to-day management of FC social media channels (including TikTok, LinkedIn, Instagram, X, and Facebook)
- Work directly with Program teams to curate key information to amplify across social media
- Lead creation of small-scale, “snackable” social content production including copy/caption, graphics, and video content
- Directly posts across social media platforms
- Lead community engagement across platforms, including engaging in comments and DMs
- Maintain digital content calendar, including ideating on content ideas, key dates, and cultural moments that fit the content pillars
- Support with prospecting and maintaining a database of media partners and influencers

Requirements:Required Skills & Abilities:
- Strong commitment to youth-focused social movements
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Direct experience managing social media pages for nonprofit organizations or advocacy campaigns
- Experience managing a digital content calendar
- Ability to both work independently and collaboratively to accomplish tasks
- Ability to work on several projects at once
Education & Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience as a communications team member at a nonprofit organization
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or a related discipline, preferred
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk working on a computer
