POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Creates concise and applicable communication materials to members, participants, and prospective members. Execute digital communication plans that encourage a high quality, consistent experience for all who join and sign up for programs across Crossroads YMCA branches and locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Effectively models and communicates the mission, vision, and values of the Crossroads YMCA.
- Assists in the development, planning and implementation of high-quality YMCA marketing, and communication materials for email communication.
- Assists VP of Marketing and Communications in developing internal and external communication messages to support association strategies.
- Helps to ensure YMCA brand and graphic standards are consistently represented.
- Coordinate the Association's member engagement communication system; help train staff members, set guidelines for use, create content, collect content information from branches to be used in written communication, etc.
- Helps manage written standards such as email signatures, email fonts, out of office messages in conjunction with the IT department.
- Works with the association management staff, branch management staff, and outside resources to produce high quality, effective communications.
- Makes recommendations to enhance the success of future communications and increased engagement with the members.
- Fosters an inclusive work environment.
- Maintains confidentiality of employee information and exercises discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
- Implement member service and engagement strategies that support and encourage the recruitment of new members and the retention of existing members in a welcoming environment that supports belonging.
- Participate in special events as assigned.
- Be knowledgeable and supportive of the YMCA annual support campaign.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Six months or more of related experience in using a communication platform and/or marketing automation, Daxko Operations is preferred.
- Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Leader Orientation.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to relate and communicate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Must have a passion for learning, improving processes and communication with members/prospective members and participants.
