Morris Bank's Summer 2024 Internship Program provides high- potential students with a rewarding internship experience as well as an inside look at what it's like to work for a growing, innovative, community bank that has been serving clients since 1954. An intern will be responsible for working on various projects and assignments that are both challenging and offer valuable, real-world experiences in their respective line of business/function. Morris Bank offers college internship opportunities in various departments.
At Morris Bank, our Commercial Lending team is focused on working with clients to explain the procedures and answer questions during the lending process. They also interact with bank management in discussing the credit risk of loan applicants. The Credit Analyst team is responsible for the review of the bank's overall credit review process by analyzing financial information and credit reports to evaluate degree of risk of commercial loans. They prepare recommendations for the bank lending committee regarding credit limits and terms of loan. The Commercial Lending, Credit Analyst Intern will gain experience while working on a wide variety of tasks assigned by the Commercial Lending and Credit Analyst teams. The various projects may include pipeline management, review of financial documents for credit decisioning, presenting loan opportunities, and reviews of existing clients. The goal of the Commercial Lending, Credit Analyst Internship is to attract and develop self-motivated individuals who are highly skilled and passionate about a career in credit and lending while providing a foundation for future success within the organization.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW & REQUIREMENTS
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program, seeking a degree in Accounting or Finance
- Junior or Senior with a minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher
- Intern will work inside the Morris Bank footprint. Offices located in Dublin, Warner Robins and Statesboro.
- Project focused work and assignments with a final summary project presented to management
- Assignments vary according to business need and intern qualifications
- Student to be involved in club, organization, community service, or philanthropy within university/school
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
- Excellent organization, time management, project management, and customer service skills

- Exchange information clearly and concisely and to present ideas, report facts, and other pertinent information

DURATION
- June 2024 to August 2023 (Approx 9 weeks)
- 40 hours per week preferred
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience working in an office environment
- Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 25-50 pounds and safely drive an automobile
- Ability to walk, sit (for long periods of time), stoop, kneel and reach, various lengths of time and meet other physical demands required to perform the job
- Must be capable of operating all types of office equipment
