The Credit Analyst reviews credit information for the purpose of assessing risk involved in the extension of credit, prepares reports of findings, and assists in certain collection efforts.
JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES
- Performs quantitative and qualitative assessments of customers and proposes adequate credit limits.
- Reviews credit applications and conducts credit investigations.
- Determines required information, including company financial statements..
- Compares items such as liquidity, profitability, credit history, and cash, with other companies of the same industry, size, and geographic location.
- Analyzes such factors as income growth, quality of management, market share, and potential risks of industry.
- Manages and maintains letters of credit issued to vendors as well as those issued by customers.
- Performs industry research and ratios.
- Assesses credit risk.
- Maintains credit data.
- Conducts regular credit reviews.
- Occasionally assists in collecting past due accounts.
- Special projects as requested by VP of Risk (i.e. review reports, update info, etc.).
- Placing and releasing credit holds based on past dues, other information, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- BA or BAS degree required.
- Financial Statement Analysis experience preferred.
- Two or more years of Credit Analysis experience preferred.
- Experience in Credit or Finance field preferred.
- Experience with letters of credit preferred.
- Strong skills are required in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities and have excellent communication and customer service skills.
