Our company is looking for a dynamic and experienced Commercial Drywall Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our construction projects, providing accurate drywall estimates to ensure profitability and success. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a variety of commercial construction projects, working closely with project managers, architects, and contractors. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing blueprints, conducting site visits, attending pre-bid meetings, and providing cost estimates for drywall installation.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Conduct quantity take-offs for drywall and other construction materials as required.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and conduct site visits to understand project scope and requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve cost-related issues.
- Review design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, or availability of materials.
- Track changes in blueprints or project plans and update budgets and schedules accordingly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on suppliers, contractors, and market trends.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Commercial Drywall Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
- Proven experience with drywall, quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and construction materials.
- Strong knowledge of the construction industry, including construction contracts and material, equipment, and labor costs.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, specifications, and contract documents.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to present cost estimates clearly and professionally.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including estimation and project management software.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
