The AOC is seeking a Collaborative Courts Coordinator to support the development, implementation, and growth of Family Treatment Courts (FTCs) statewide. This position will join a high-functioning team of court improvement analysts and researchers dedicated to achieving better outcomes for children, youth and families involved in the dependency court system. Programs served by the Collaborative Courts Team include Family Treatment Courts, Early Childhood Courts, and Indian Child Welfare Courts.
The Collaborative Courts Coordinator will provide policy and program support to help local FTCs align with national best practices and effectively engage their communities. This work includes technical assistance, education, resource development, statewide coordination, motivation, and collaboration with key partners to improve responses and outcomes for FTC programs and participants.
This is a professional level job that works with minimal supervision and applies independent judgment within the specified area of expertise. As a member of the AOC's Family and Youth Justice Programs (FYJP), the Collaborative Courts Coordinator will take direction from the Collaborative Courts Team Lead. Work is periodically reviewed by the FYJP Manager who also provides direction and assistance on special assignments.

Position may be eligible for hybrid working; a combination of telework and working in-office.
- Supports judges, program coordinators, cross-system court teams, and committees to improve the functioning and effectiveness of Family Treatment Courts (FTCs). This will entail: scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and meeting minutes, providing resources and trainings, and drafting policies and procedures;
- Participates in technical assistance visits to FTCs to monitor program implementation, identify needs and recommend improvements;
- Provides technical assistance and training to FTC programs to achieve fidelity to national best practice standards and other behavioral health and therapeutic approaches;
- Identifies common needs and barriers across FTCs and works with the Collaborative Courts Team and advisory groups to develop effective responses;
- Conducts outreach, fosters relationships, and helps onboard courts with interest in starting an FTC;
- Develops strategies and facilitates Communities of Practice to improve collaboration and communication among judicial branch partners, DCYF, social services and treatment providers, people with lived experience, and other partners involved in FTC therapeutic responses;
- Prepares reports and presents information to court and community stakeholders related to the FTC program;
- Assists in the development of education and training for judges, court staff, court partners, and the community on the courts' response to individuals with specialized needs.

- Bachelor's degree in court administration, public administration, social work, business administration or closely allied field,
AND
- Three (3) years of experience in court administration and/or program development.
Below is a list of experiences that will be viewed as relevant to the position and may be considered as a substitute for the required qualifications and credentials:
- Work in Substance Use Disorder Professional or other behavioral health treatment;
- Education in BIPOC studies;
- Experience working with courts, judges and/or attorneys;
THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Experience as a therapeutic court participant or as a peer counselor.
- Experience coordinating policy, projects, or programs on a statewide level.

- Communication skills both orally and in writing.

- Knowledge and understanding of the justice system with specific focus on the Washington State court system.
- The workweek may fluctuate depending on workload or agency needs.
- Overnight travel may be required based on business needs.
- This position is not overtime eligible.
