Job Duties

The Department of Environmental Quality, Office of Human Resources seeks an experienced individual to serve as the Training and Development Coordinator.
This position will be responsible for coordinating DEQ’s staff-development training program and for providing consultation and support in the design, development, and delivery of training for administrative processes, including information technology systems and software. This position will use a combination of online and traditional training approaches. In addition, this position will gather data from technical subject matter experts, conduct needs assessments, develop user documentation, and establish timetables for implementation.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Knowledge of organizational development practices.
  • Experience using adult learning principles and instructional design methods.
  • Ability to solve problems by thinking strategically, critically, and innovatively.
  • Ability to support continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to flex communication styles as needed for different stakeholders.
  • Skilled in project management with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and from inception to launch to follow-up.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Skilled in using virtual meeting applications including Microsoft Teams, GoTo Webinar, and other similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems.

Additional Considerations

  • Combination of education or experience in Training and Development, Management/Communications, Human Resources, Business, or Information Technology.
  • Experience creating online courses using training development software.
  • Delivery of information technology instruction.
  • Database management.
