Job Summary:
The CNC Programmer is responsible for the setup, programming, and operation of CNC equipment, particularly 3-axis vertical mills. The role involves creating programs for cavity block preparation before heat treatment, conducting preventative maintenance on equipment, and operating various secondary equipment.
Job Duties:
- Set up and operate CNC 3-axis vertical mills.
- Create programs using Mastercam software for 2D toolpaths to prep cavity blocks before heat treat.
- Perform monthly preventative maintenance on CNC equipment.
- Operate cutoff saw, tool grinder, and various secondary equipment.
- Maintain precision in holding tolerances of +/-.0005".
- Utilize computer software effectively.
- Possess problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience operating and programming CNC machines.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have own precision tools.
