Cnc Machinist

Under general supervision, the CNC Machinist programs and operates a computer numerical controlled machine; makes adjustments to adhere to established specifications or to correct faulty programming; monitors work to ensure that machine is not malfunctioning.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Programs and operates and makes adjustments to programs for a CNC machine.
• Loads stock.
• Loads and unloads parts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Technical school diploma: or one to three years related experience and/or training.

SKILLS:

• Ability to read prints/drawings.
• Ability to use standard measurement tools with accuracy.
• Basic math skills including some trigonometry.
• Ability to take direction and work well within a group.

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

CNC machine; calipers; micrometers; personal computer.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to stand up to 7 hours per day.
• Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms.

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Must be able to do simple math including some trigonometry.
• Ability to read engineering prints and/or drawings.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation. Must be able to work up to 10 hours over-time on occasion of special production demands.

Pay: $49,920.00 - $56,160.00 per year
