Responsibilities
- Examine drawings and blueprints to understand the required dimensions for materials.
- Creative Problem-Solving: Think creatively to determine the most efficient way to shape materials to meet specifications.
- Choose the appropriate materials and tools, such as calipers, drills, and mills.
- Set up and program cutting machines using CAD and CNC software.
- Quality Inspection: Inspect finished products to ensure precision and quality.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Technical certificate, diploma, or journeyman status in machining is highly desirable.
Experience:
- Experience with Mill, Lathe, Wire EDM, Waterjet, and grinding is preferred.
- Preference for mechanically inclined individuals.
- CNC operation/programming experience is a plus, with a preference for experience with Fanuc/Haas controls.
- Familiarity with Bobcat or other CAM systems is an advantage.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Proficiency in interpreting and understanding blueprints is highly regarded.
Knowledge & Skills
- A fundamental understanding of M and G codes.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Physical capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
