CNC Machinist Job Description
We are seeking dependable candidates who work independently. CNC machinists can expect to work with both software and hardware, conduct tests and inspections of products, services and software systems, and repair faulty programs and machinery. You should have an above-average aptitude for math, excellent computer and interpersonal communication skills, a keen interest in production and processing.

CNC Machinist Responsibilities:
- Writing and interpreting instructions and procedures to assemble equipment and products accurately.
- Getting information from all relevant sources.
Controlling machines and processes.
- Performing inspections of equipment, structures, materials and products.
- Analyzing information and finding the best solutions to problems.
- Maintaining clear and honest communication at all times.
- Keeping the work environment safe.
- Learning and applying the latest relevant knowledge to the work.
- Perform tasks on manual lathe or mill as required
- Reading blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files to determine the specs and tolerances of a product
- Setting up, operating, and disassembling manual, automatic, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools
- Aligning, securing, and adjusting cutting tools and work pieces
- Monitoring the feed and speed of machines
- Turning, milling, drilling, shaping, and grinding machine parts to specifications
- Measuring, examining, and testing completed products for defects
- Smoothing the surfaces of parts or products
- Presenting finished work pieces to customers and make modifications if needed
CNC Machinist Requirements:
- Certificate in machine shop technology or machine tool technology/machinist desired.
- 1-2 years’ experience in mechanical assembly is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
- Understanding of mathematics.
- Ethical behavior.
- Attention to detail and self-motivation.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Previous experience as a production worker or similar role in a warehouse
- Good understanding of how production equipment works.
- Ability to detect potential problems with machinery.
- Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures (safety gear will be provided).
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Basic computer skills
- Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.
- Problems encountered are simple, repetitive and generally solved by clear directions and procedures.
- Follows standard procedures with no decision making involved.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods of time.
- The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE). May be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. On occasions an employee may be asked to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
