Job Title: CNC Machinist
SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team at a small but rapidly expanding valve manufacturing company. As a CNC Machinist, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality valve components using CNC machinery. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team in an innovative and growing industry.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Machine parts which have multiple physical and/or quality features and understand how those features impact the customer
- Operate a variety of machine types or multiple non-complex machines at a time and perform set-ups independently
- Adjust speeds/feeds, edit or recommend edits for existing programs
- Setup repeat and non-complex jobs
- Problem solving and trouble shooting
- Monitor machine performance to ensure that product quality and specifications are achieved
- Prepare future jobs while machines are operating
- Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
- May train new operators
- Inspect completed work independently using advanced measurement/inspection tools
- Must contribute to Doering’s culture of continuous improvement
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, you should have the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (a relevant technical degree is a plus).
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, preferably in the field of valve manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code programming languages.
- Familiarity with a variety of materials suitable for valve components (e.g., stainless steel, brass).
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in machine tool maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Willingness to adapt to emerging machining technologies and techniques.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work performed in a manufacturing/machine shop environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Light to moderate physical effort required
- Prolonged standing
- Regularly required to walk, bend, reach and move about the facility
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
