About the Role
We are currently looking for a Lead Operator who ensures the highest productivity across all production lines during shifts while also acting as a backup to run production as needed. Assist the Supervisor.
Responsibilities

- Ensures setup readiness and first part approval.
- Instill good company/employee relations, including cooperation and teamwork.
- Supporting operators with changing tooling offsets, replacing tool holders, part verification, macro program changes, monitor tool life, etc.
- Ensures shift data and records are accurate and up to date. Verifies information input into company software is accurate and complete.
- Ensure compliance with scrap review process and verification of in process and final scrap are transferred to the respective review area.
- Supporting staff with difficult tasks (e.g., machine changeovers, machine settings).
- Ensuring maximum productivity through quick troubleshooting, scrap mitigation and utilization of planned downtime effectively in consultation with supervisor.
- Responsible for leading daily Shop Floor Meetings in their defined areas.
- Ensuring quality of product through hourly checks and routine audits.
- Will serve as trainers when new associates are on-boarded into their areas.
- Identification and elimination of waste in processes by participation in engineering activities.
- Authorized to initiate a write up in their defined areas and propose disciplinary action to the supervisor.
- Train employees in technical aspects such as machine operation, changing inserts and basic troubleshooting.
- Fill in for missing employees if necessary.
- In the absence of the supervisor perform all necessary duties.
- Operate CNC machines.
- Operate forklifts if necessary.
- Maintain all machine fluid levels and perform daily PM.
- Perform hourly inspections of all lines as per the SOP.
- Escalation of quality deviations, machine condition and all production related matters to the supervisor
Location & Commitments
- Monday – Friday, Onsite Columbus OH
- Permanent, Full Time, Third Shift 11:00 pm – 7:15 am (40 hour)
- Overtime, Alternate shifts, and Weekends may be necessary for business needs.
Candidate Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 3+ years experiences in metal working, CNC Machine experience
- Expertise automation, CNC Programming knowledge, basic computer skills, general machining skills, general math skills
