BASIC OVERVIEW
The CMMS/Inventory Specialist will utilize the companies Computerized Maintenance Management System for the purpose of asset tracking, inventory control and data collection to be used by the management team for planning and continual improvement of the Facilities Maintenance Department. This position ensures availability of necessary materials to support day-to-day operations, projects, and preventative maintenance schedules of the Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Responsible for maintaining CMMS for the respective site, developing into the site expert of the system.
- Load and update inventory information, asset related records and documents.
- Maintain accurate database and prepare reports as requested by Leadership.
- Manage the ordering process of all parts in CMMS by evaluating usage & stock levels, generating Purchase Orders(PO) and contacting vendors to place orders.
- Receive incoming materials, to include visual inspection of the materials, verification of shipping documentation, placing items in appropriate storage area, and updating CMMS. Appropriately addresses any issues during this process to include researching paperwork and making necessary contacts.
- Collaboratively work with Maintenance team on non-stock items, including researching competitive pricing, affirming timelines, ordering, receiving, and distribution as appropriate.
- Maintain parts in CMMS to include tracking, reporting monthly and maintaining accurate inventory levels of parts, and perform physical inventories as necessary.
- Assist with development of resource plans and scheduling for shutdowns and regular maintenance work, both proactive and reactive, to minimize equipment downtime.
- Stage required parts from corrective work orders for the completion of asset repairs.
- Safely operate power equipment, including pallet riders, hand trucks and forklifts throughout the facility.
- Reconciles Maintenance expense spend against budget.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A CANDIDATE WHO:
- Has experience in inventory management and use of a CMMS (Computerize Maintenance Management System) tool (strongly preferred)
- Has previous experience in a Maintenance field (preferred but not required)
- Is proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, email, and database user.
- Is able to communicate technical information accurately and clearly.
- Is able to uphold Safety standards, participate in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follow our company’s best practices.
- Is able to complete required forklift training and maintain a safe driving record.
- Is able to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instructions.
- Is proficient in developing maintenance documentation and standards.
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO MEET THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 12 hours/day.
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
- Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
- Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
- Requires the ability to regularly lift / carry 50-75lbs. and push / pull up to 150lbs.
- Ability to work at elevations of up to 50 feet.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes, and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.
SHIFT SCHEDULE
- Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Starting wage is $22.00/hr and a potential of up to $0.88 in raises every 6 months
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
May require occasional travel to other facilities within the region.
