SAIC is looking for a highly motivated, hands on candidate that will be responsible for evaluating and implementing cloud-based solution architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP, and developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Python. This role involves working closely with Cloud Service Providers to resolve issues, assisting in the design of cloud infrastructure, and supporting application development. Responsibilities also include creating custom OS and application images, automating configurations, contributing to security audits, providing technical support, troubleshooting with cross-functional teams, and leading technical projects. The candidate will analyze cloud systems and performance to recommend improvements and participate in research projects to optimize our cloud environment. Job responsibilities mainly include:
- Conduct cloud solution assessments and implement cloud-based Architectures on AWS, Azure, OCI or GCP considering scalability, security, reliability, and performance
- Develop and Maintain IaC using Terraform, Ansible, or Python
- Coordinate with CSP support to escalate and track issues to resolution
- Provide Infrastructure conceptual design & assist developers with application development and implementation of new cloud products and services that meet the organization and customer requirements
- OS & Application Customer Image design and development for our cloud infrastructure
- Produce, build, and implement automation for configuration of systems and applications
- Assist with security and audit activities related to Cloud infrastructure
- Experience with STIG and remediating vulnerabilities and vendor best practice
- Provides technical and system engineering support for internal groups and customers
- Assist cross functional teams in troubleshooting and problem identification
- Evaluate and analyze systems, performance, issues and metrics to provide recommendations for service improvements
- Provide escalation support for Operations
- Lead and or provide technical expertise on projects
- Ability to understand virtual cloud architectures and layered application and database services with the ability to logically determine root cause of an issue.
- Participate in analytical studies, cost-benefit analyses, or other research including analyzing information systems requirements and environment projects.
- Develop and maintain documentation of system configurations, topologies and operational procedures.
- Stay updated with cloud trends, certifications, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- B.S. in technology field computer science, electrical engineering, information systems management, or related field of study AND 6 years of experience, or demonstrate 9 years of equivalent experience in a related field.
- Experience with cloud architecture, cloud solutioning, networking, security, compliance, migration patterns and tools.
- Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, including virtual networks, security groups, and identity management services
- Ability to manage and ensure the successful completion of multiple technical tasks in assigned program(s). Ability to recruit, hire, manage, supervise, train, schedule, coordinate, and evaluate staff as assigned.
- Experience in working within environments that employ Agile and Scrum methodologies for project management and are structured around a DevOps culture.
- Experience supporting a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline
- Experience with software development suites like GitLab and experience with code version control systems
- Experience with Jira and Confluence
- Experience with any of the following CSPs: AWS, Azure, Oracle, GCP
- Understanding of IP Networking (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, etc.)
- Experience with STIG and remediating vulnerabilities and vendor best practices
- Good leadership qualities to instruct and lead junior engineers, administrators, and technicians
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge and understanding of how to leverage various services for computing, storage, database management, and networking.
- Understand the principles of DevOps and its integration with cloud services. Proficiency in tools like Git, and CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in tools like Terraform, and Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration management of cloud resources.
- Proficiency in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and scripting.
Certifications (minimum of 1 of the following)
- GCP, Azure, or AWS Cloud certifications
- Security+
- CISSP
- CCSP Certified Cloud Security Professional
Citizenship / Clearance Qualifications:
- US Citizenship Required
- Must be able to obtain DHS Public Trust prior to starting
Target salary range: $115,001 - $125,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
