Our client, an AM Law 100 firm, is looking to hire a Lead Desktop & Cloud Engineer at their offices in New York City. This is a full time, direct hire role that will allow for a hybrid work week (2-days a week onsite). The position will pay an annual base salary of $170K to $180K plus a performance based bonus and excellent benefits package.

Job Description:

The Lead Desktop and Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and supporting on prem and cloud systems that allow the firm to manage its end-point computing devices.

End-points include Windows PCs and Laptops, Smart Phones and Tablets, Printers and portable storage media.

The Lead Desktop and Cloud Engineer is responsible for delivering critical end point applications, operating systems and configuration changes to the desktop, laptop, mobile device and remote access platforms.The Engineer is also responsible for being well versed in configurations of InTune, AzureAD, CloudPC, group policies and staying current in enterprise wide applications such as the browser and word processing environment.

This is a hybrid role that straddles Desktop and Network Systems.It involves close collaboration and coordination with counterparts on the Network Systems and Information Security teams.

The Lead Desktop and Cloud Engineer is expected to have the ability to work independently and ensure availability at all times in a customer centric, high service level and continually evolving environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assisting with development, implementation and support of the firms overall Hybrid Cloud Strategy.
• Assist with the development and maintaining IaC as Code (ARM templates, BICEP templates), along with Azure PowerShell to improve cloud automation, alerting and monitoring.
• Responsible for assisting with implementing cloud desktop and end-user cloud projects focusing on improving the overall end user experience.
• Responsible for implementation and maintaining the firms Azure AD infrastructure and related integrations with on-premise users and applications.
• Assist in the documenting and designing of cloud related projects and solutions.
• Designing, implementing and supporting the firm's PC/End-point infrastructure which includes:

oMaintaining the standard firm workstation build procedure.

oMaintaining the software distribution system.

oMaintaining all PC applications that are hosted on the network.

oPackaging all new PC applications to be distributed via the software distribution system.

oTesting and certifying all new software packages.

• Ensuring that all applicable PC updates, including virus definition updates, are distributed on a regular basis
• Automating maintenance tasks through scripting
• Managing the Desktop Infrastructure through various point products. (Anti-Virus, End-point Security, Encryption, Software distribution, Patch Management, Group Policies, Anti Spyware, application and desktop virtualization, asset management.
• Planning for and evaluating new PC software, hardware, and services.
• Keeping abreast of new technologies through industry related periodicals, product presentations, seminars and classes, and independent research.
• Providing advanced third level troubleshooting and support.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree, preferably in Computer Science, and/or a minimum of three years experience in Desktop Systems Engineering.
• In depth knowledge of Azure Cloud technologies.
• In depth knowledge of Windows operating systems in a networked environment.
• Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Proficient in automated workstation build methods.
• Strong experience working with software packaging and deployment systems.
• Strong experience in working with the Microsoft Outlook Client.
• Introductory knowledge of the support and administration of Exchange and Windows Server
• Ability to produce detailed technical documentation for other departments. Ability to meet strict deadlines and effectively complete designated job assignments under significant time and supervisory pressure
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact with peers and customers.
• Ability to excel in managing attention to detail and multiple requests in the area of configuration and support/troubleshooting.

Work Requirements:

• Bachelors degree, On site during designated working hours and available as necessary before or after designated working hours to work at the firm, over the telephone, or at off-site meetings, in order to meet the demands of the job and the needs of the firm.
