Position Summary
The Cloud Database Administrator plays an important role in the organization by performing a number of activities related to the companies Information Technology functions. The role is primarily responsible for, under limited to intermittent supervision, for design, deploy, and optimize scalable and reliable Cloud Database solutions. You will be critical in managing and optimizing our databases, ensuring their security, availability, and performance of our cloud environment.
Essential Functions

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of our Cloud databases, including proactive identification, and resolution of issues to maintain high availability and performance.
  • Implement and maintain database backup and recovery strategies, ensuring data integrity, and minimizing downtime in case of failures.
  • Design, develop, and implement databases in our Cloud environments, aligning with the best scalability, security, and performance practices.
  • Perform data migrations from existing databases to our Cloud environment, ensuring seamless transitions and data integrity.
  • Set up and maintain database replication for high availability and disaster recovery purposes.
  • Establish and enforce database security measures, including access controls, encryption, and data privacy best practices.
  • Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and roles following the organization's security policies and requirements.
  • Develop and execute database scripts to automate routine tasks and streamline operations.
  • Monitor and analyze database activity, identify trends, and optimize query performance and resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application development, troubleshoot database-related issues, and provide technical guidance.
  • Stay updated with the latest Cloud database technologies, tools, best practices, continuously evaluating their potential impact on our database environments.
  • Create and maintain standards, along with enforcing those standards, to provide lean, high performant databases while balancing overall Cloud Database costs.
  • Implement or make use of cloud security logging to ensure data access in trackable.
  • Communicates regularly with Technology leaders.

Qualifications
  • High School degree preferred, along with a minimum of five years working as a Database Administrator or related role and experience managing Cloud bases database technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of Cloud database services within AWS (Amazon RDS, Amazon Aurora, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Redshift, etc.) and Azure (Azure SQLDatabase, Azure database for MySQL, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Proficiency in SQL and other database technologies, with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
  • Familiarity with data security and privacy best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with database backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Expert with performance monitoring, optimization, tuning and management.

Requirements
Physical: Mobility in an office setting.
Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of computer keyboard and mouse.
Audio/Visual: Ability to accurately interpret sounds and associated meanings at a volume consistent with interpersonal conversation. Regularly required to accurately perceive, distinguish and interpret information received visually and through audio; e.g., words, numbers and other data broadcasted aloud/viewed on a screen, as well in print and other media.
Environmental: Fully remove with experience in an office environment, no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions.

Targeted Salary: $94,542.00 to $128,600.00
Compensation at Guild is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to local and federal minimum wage requirements, education, level of experience, and applicant's geographical location.
