Engineer III

Responsible for the delivery of end to end system development and maintenance on complex technology systems within assigned client group, business unit or corporate department.

How you will make an impact

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Development on medium to large complex customer technology platforms or architectures.

• Maintains active relationships with internal and/or external stakeholder to develop business requirements.

• Analyzes and classifies complex change request and identifies and documents possible system code enhancements.

• Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends, our products and infrastructure.

• Collaborates with engineers and graphic designers, analyzes and classifies complex change request and reviews and evaluates possible enhancements.

• Works with development team to develop and define application scope and objectives and prepare functional and/or technical specifications.

• Analyzes and evaluates detailed business and technical requirements.

• Understands the product and analytics and drive requirements that take into account stakeholders needs.

• Identifies problems/risks.

• Codes and maintains complex components of information systems.

• Mentors others on coding standards and performs code reviews.

• Reviews test cases and advises QA on adjacent code/regression impact.

• Develops and performs system testing and fixes defects identified during testing and re-executes unit tests to validate results.

• Aids in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts.

• Provides on call support and monitors the system and identifies system deficiencies.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires an BA/BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study and a minimum of 3 years experience on one platform, multi database, multi language or multi business application; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Experience mentoring others, leading small projects and providing troubleshooting support is strongly preferred.

Snowflake Developer:

Looking for a Snowflake developer who is a software programmer, trained well to deliver fast and consistent performance regardless of scale. The resource should be efficient enough in building applications that are auto-scalable and can be implemented seamlessly, trustworthy data pipelines in chosen language with the least infrastructure management, quick data access and processing for SQL preferably and Python (optional).

A 7+ years in Data Engineering that include ETL Architecture, all phases in ETL Development, and understanding data models is desireable.

The Snowflake developer should be able to create data-intensive apps with flexible performance, scalability, and concurrency parameters.

Snowflake Developer Skills:

Knowledge of SQL language and cloud-based technologies

Data warehousing concepts, data modeling, metadata management

Data lakes, multi-dimensional models, data dictionaries

Migration to AWS Snowflake platform

Performance tuning and setting up resource monitors

Snowflake modeling – roles, databases, schemas

SQL performance measuring, query tuning, and database tuning

ETL tools with cloud-driven skills

Integration with third-party tools

Ability to build analytical solutions and models

Coding in languages like Python, Java, JavaScript

Root cause analysis of models with solutions

Hadoop, Spark, and other warehousing tools

Managing sets of XML, JSON, and CSV from disparate sources

SQL-based databases like Oracle SQL Server, Teradata, etc.

Snowflake warehousing, architecture, processing, administration

Data ingestion into Snowflake and AWS S3

Snowflake Developer Roles and Responsibilities

Seeing the significance that they tag along; the Snowflake developer roles and responsibilities must encompass the following set of activities:

Create, test, and implement enterprise-level apps with Snowflake

Create authorization frameworks for better access control

Implement novel query optimization, major security competencies with encryption

Solve performance issues and scalability issues in the system

Possess ownership right from start to finish

Build, monitor, and optimize ETL and ELT processes with data models

Migrate solutions from on-premises setup to cloud-based platforms

Understand and implement the latest delivery approaches based on data architecture

Project documentation and tracking based on understanding user requirements

Perform data integration with third-party tools including architecting, designing, coding, and testing phases

Manage documentation of data models, architecture, and maintenance processes

Continually review and audit data models for enhancement

Maintenance of ideal data pipeline based on ETL tools

Coordination with BI experts and analysts for customized data models and integration

Code updates, new code development, and reverse engineering

Performance tuning, user acceptance training, application support

Maintain confidentiality of data

Risk assessment, management, and mitigation plans

Regular engagement with teams for status reporting and routine activities

Migration activities from one database to another or on-premises to cloud

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is: $89,200 - $133,800
