Responsibilities
We currently have an exciting opportunity available for an experienced Senior Data Engineer
As a Senior Data Engineer you will be working in a fast paced and growing environment helping to design, build, and implement data integration solutions, including data pipelines and ETL jobs, to meet the data needs of application, services, data assets, and business intelligence and analytical tools. You will be working closely with data architects, application development teams, data analytics teams, business analytics, product managers, and data governance, the Senior Data Engineer will design and develop interfaces between applications, databases, data assets, external partners, and third-party systems in a combination of cloud and on-premises platforms. You will be working in cutting edge technologies including, but not exclusive to, AWS (Redshift, data pipeline, Python, EMR, Athena, Glue, S3s, etc.), Snowflake, SQL, PostgreSQL, Tableau, Talend, and more.

Please note, this position is remote and the pay range presented is specific to 100% national labor mkt avg. Salary bands across the enterprise may differ due to cost of living adjustments and are specific to an employee's address and state and can vary for higher labor mkts.

As a Senior Data Engineer you will be working in a fast paced and growing environment helping to design, build, and implement data integration solutions, including data pipelines and ETL jobs, to meet the data needs of application, services, data assets, and business intelligence and analytical tools. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains scalable data pipelines and builds out new integrations to support continuing increases in data volume and complexity
- Designs and develops scalable ETL packages for point-to-point integration of data between source systems, extraction and integration of data into various data assets, including data warehouse and fit for purpose data repositories, both on prem and cloud
- Designs and develops data migrations in support of enterprise application and system implementations from legacy systems
- Writes functional specifications for data pipelines and APIs and writes and performs unit/integration tests
- Performs data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship in Data Engineering best practices while demonstrating these as an individual contributor.
- Communicate/Demo features built to various stakeholders.
- Assist with deployment of data pipelines to various environments.
- Assist QA team with testing and validating of features built.
- Work closely with architects to help brainstorm solutions to various problem sets.
- Work closely with small, nimble, cross-functional teams of Data Engineers, product managers, designers, and business teams.
- Have opportunities to learn and work with technologies used at Envision like AWS (Redshift, data pipeline, Python, EMR, Athena, Glue, S3s, etc.), Snowflake, SQL, PostgreSQL, Tableau, Talend, and more.
- Responsible for adhering to Information Security Policies and ensuring Envision is as secure as possible.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university in Software Engineering, Computer Science, and 8 or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 8 years' experience designing, building, and testing ETL pipelines.
- Expert Knowledge and a minimum of four years' experience in one of the following domains: Data management, software engineering, I&O (infrastructure and operations)
- 4+ of working with data transformation and modeling
- Strong teamwork skills
- Must be motivated, self-driven, curious, and creative
- Must be skilled communicator, and demonstrate an ability to work with end users and business leaders
- Demonstrate the ability to support and complement the work of a diverse development and/or operations team
- You love participating with high-performing teams of engineers
- Customer-centricity and product focus
- You look at everything you create through the lens of how it improves things for the end-customer
- You are comfortable communicating how various technical approaches might impact product behavior (and vice versa)

- Willingness to work across the development stack
- You're comfortable with working on data pipelines, transformations and implementing insights
- You're willing to jump into Envision backend applications on occasion

- You value robust observable solutions with actionable monitoring and the importance of tooling for troubleshooting and resolving issues
Education/Experience
- Experience with AWS - specific preference for Redshift, data pipeline, Python, EMR, Athena, Glue, S3s, etc.
- Experience with Snowflake
- Experience with relational databases (MSSQL, Postgres, etc.) and able to navigate, query, design, alter, and tune for performance.
- Programming experience with command in at least two languages: SQL, Python, Java, R or Spark
- Expert proficiency in SQL; experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server
- Experience using Git, or a comparable code repository
- Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional team; Active participation in sprint reviews
- Solid background in Agile methodologies
