The Clinical Therapist works in the Family Ministry Center providing diagnostic assessments, therapy, counseling and support services for a diverse caseload, including adults, children, adolescents and families experiencing trauma, mental health issues, communication challenges and/or family conflict.

- Conducts initial child/adult/family assessments and refers to resources of specialists as necessary.
- Assesses child/adult/family mental condition based on review of information, interviews, observations, tests and collaboration with staff members.
- Develops and implements treatment plans based on diagnostic assessments, clinical experience and knowledge.
- Gathers information about community mental health needs and resources that could be used in conjunction with therapy.
- Plans and conducts programs to promote resilience, stability and healthy relationships.
- Responds to crisis situations, coordinating required services to assist in and/or resolve emergency situations.
- Maintains confidentiality of records and information.
- Meets with child/adult/family regularly, as needed, to advocate for and assist with placement issues, behaviors, plan of care goals and progress.
- Conducts staffing with participating agencies, staff, child/adult/families, as required for service delivery.
- Completes documentation and updates before deadlines, including care plans, progress information and maintains child files according to licensing standards and as required by agency and state standards, e.g., safety plans, Individual Service Plans, progress notes and other required documentation for the child's file.
- Adheres to all regulatory standards and Miracle Hill Ministries' (MHM's) policies.
- Prepares critical incident reports as needed.
- Willingly shares the good news of Jesus Christ, gives personal testimony and prays for those served by the ministry.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications:
- Education or equivalent experience: Master's degree in social work, psychology or other related areas of study and one year of experience working with the population served.
- Valid license as an LMFT, LICSW or LPCC. Applicant may be in process under supervision.
- Maintain professional licensure throughout employment with MHM.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
- Must be able to work flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends on occasion.
- Possess excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to interact and relate to all people.
- Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with clients and guests.
- Excellent writing and oral skills.
- Ability to deal with highly stressful situations and people who may be stressed.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying various procedures and guidelines.
