Come grow with us! South County Mental Health Center, Inc. is a private, non-profit Joint Commission Accredited Behavioral Healthcare provider located in South East Palm Beach County, Florida. Situated in the nationally designated city of Delray Beach, the Center provides a broad spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care to clients and their families in surrounding communities.
Purpose:
To provide individual, group and/or family therapy to emotionally disturbed adults, children, adolescents and their families in the least restrictive environment possible.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assess client needs via Bio psychosocial assessment
- Develop comprehensive treatment plan with client based on severity levels identified on bio psychosocial and client goals for change
- Provide therapy as needed to implement positive changes identified on the treatment plan
- Re-assess client progress and needs through use of treatment plan reviews every six months and bio psychosocial reassessments annually.
- Complete the required documentation for agency and/or funding sources within established timelines
- Accurately track and monitor client insurance information
- Monitor program expectations with regards to client attendance
- Maintain up to date knowledge of evidenced based practices
- Maintain up to date knowledge o existing community resources and link clients as appropriate
- Provide referrals to other services and resources as appropriate
Business/Supervisory:
Demonstrate the ability to interpret and abide by confidentiality laws, abuse reporting guidelines, client rights requirements, and abide by a code of ethical and practice standards of the profession.
Medical/Mental Health:
- Counseling children and adults with serious emotional disturbances
- Understand and apply various diagnosis, treatment and their implications
- Proficiency in completing required forms and documentation
Knowledge, skills & competencies:
- Complete progress notes utilizing established guidelines
- Provide summaries and recommendations
- Proficiency in completing required forms and documentation
- General knowledge and proficiency in using PC and related software
- Knowledge of developmental stages of childhood and adolescence.
- Knowledge of utilizing play therapy techniques with children
- Knowledge of stages of adulthood and geriatrics.
Education & Experience:
- MA/MS degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or Marriage and Family Counseling
- One (1) year counseling experience with children, adolescents or adults with emotional disturbances
- Licensed Independent Practitioner (Preferred)
- Three (3) years experience
Qualifications:
- Must know Baker Act / March man Act, Abuse regulations, ethics of medical profession.
- Counseling / psychiatric interventions.
- Client care protocol for adults/geriatrics
