About the Opportunity
Under general direction from the Center Manager, Clinical Technician in the surgery center is a trained technician who assists the Registered Nurse in preparing patients for surgery, transporting patients from pre-operative are and to the post-operative area among other delegated assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists nurses, including transporting, positioning, and emotional support.
- Assists in psychologically preparing patients for procedures, communicating effectively with patients and peers.
- Cleans and restocks procedure rooms and processing areas, ensuring that all equipment is stored properly.
- Notifies supervisor of any problems encountered during the care of patients.
- Maintains inventory of supplies, assisting in the receipt of incoming supplies.
- Recognizes and utilizes safety precautions and procedures.
- Utilizes PPE per Center Policies.
- Applies Biohazardous Waste Management per facility and regulatory standards.
- Engages in various clerical and record duties as needed.
- Works well within a team environment.
- Assists in all rescue and/or resuscitative efforts as deemed necessary by attending physician, Medical Director and/or Center Manager.
- Assists with the transport and discharge of patient.
- Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
About the Candidate
- High school education or equivalent.
- Previous experience in surgical center setting.
- Maintains CPR certification.
- Able to use personal computer, including word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail / calendar functions for day-to-day activities.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with physicians and all medical professionals.
- If applicable, holds current clinical license, registration, or certification in good standing by the applicable authority.
