Virginia Cancer Specialists, an affiliate of McKesson Specialty Health and US Oncology, a leader in Cancer care, is seeking a Full Time Clinical Trials Navigator RN. Must be willing to travel to all our offices in Northern Virginia.
Summary of Responsibilities: The CTN RN (Clinical Trials Navigator) is charged with increasing subject accrual and Investigator engagement. The CTN is the primary research resource for physicians, staff and (APP) Advance Practice Providers. S/he is charged with providing personalized, expert assistance and mentoring of physicians, nurse practitioners, and staff members. The CTN will advocate for researchers and study coordinators, cut through red tape, help resolve problems to ensure successful accrual to clinical trials. Must be willing to travel to all our Northern Virginia offices.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
• Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with physicians and key personnel at each VCS location to facilitate enrollment goals
• Develop and maintain relationships with external providers to foster research referrals
• Timely follow up on research referrals
• Develop and maintaining relationships with Study Sponsors/CRO
• Craft specific, dynamic subject recruitment plans, and identify gaps in processes or training.
• Encourage providers to discuss clinical trials throughout the overall patient care process.
• Make routine visits to all locations weekly, providing personalized assistance to providers.
• Facilitate assistance with subject recruitment and give providers support in navigating the research portfolio
• Work with providers to identify patients who are progressing on treatment.
• Maintain monthly collection of screening, enrollment and referral metrics across all VCS locations.
• Provide ongoing assistance with protocol amendment awareness and training.
• Provide patients with current information about Clinical Trial opportunities.
• Increase awareness of research opportunities by providing clinical trials education to patients.
• Perform phone triage for referring physicians and patients who are interested in clinical trials
• Attend research meetings
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
• 5 (five) years' work experience as a Registered Nurse in an Oncology
• OCN certification preferred
• CCRC or CCRP preferred

• Demonstrate leadership, interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Ability to assess and identify provider needs for increased subject enrollment
• Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize quickly
• Ability to make deadlines
• Proficient with metrics tracking and forecasting
• Strong organizational and critical thinking skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
