General Summary
Develops, implements and assesses the effectiveness of occupational action plans for Workers Compensation cases in Rehabilitation. Provides workers' compensation case management, physician liaison, and facilitation of communication to all members of the health care team. Tracks trends and issues regarding access to rehabilitation services. Participates in clinical care on occasional basis.
Essential Functions:
- Communicates with injured employees about work related injuries. Provides case management of work-related injury/illness. Liaison with third party administrator, legal representation and outside nurse Case Managers.
- Tracks work-related injury/illness for trending purposes. Analyzes data and prepares appropriate reports. Maintains updated job descriptions. This includes knowledge of Workers Compensation law. Provides monthly, quarterly and end of year statistics.
- Keeps accurate medical records on Workers Compensation cases.
- Triages urgent issues from rehabilitation clinics; elevates necessary concerns to Supervisor.
- Ensures compliance with standard work; makes recommendations for process improvement as it relates to worker's compensation administrative requirements, communication and clinically preparing patients for return to work.
- Provides coaching and positive dialogue among staff members to develop their knowledge of worker's compensation enabling us to become a preferred provider with employers/insurance companies.
- Facilitates return to work for rehabilitation patients.
- Facilitates coordination of care and provides oversight of work comp cases through the department's point people and meetings with OVR, WellSpan internal Case Managers and WellSpan Occupational Health practice.
- Triages FCE referrals to ensure appropriateness for scheduling and safety for testing.
- Contacts employers for job descriptions, specific job-related information as needed and to schedule job site visits to analyze the physical/cognitive demands of the injured worker's job.
- Provides administrative support for TPA contracts to ensure reimbursement of services and good standing with TPA companies.

Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Associates Degree Required
Work Experience:
- 5 years Recent Workers' Compensation case management. Required
- PA Workers Compensation law and case management. Preferred
Licenses:
- Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant Upon Hire Required or
- Licensed Occupational Therapist Assistant Upon Hire Required
Courses and Training:
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapist assistant. Upon Hire Required or
- Graduate of an accredited occupational therapist assistant program. Upon Hire Required

- Understanding of Excel and other Microsoft Office software.
